Mutlu Konuk Blasing, Director, is a professor of English at Brown University. Her most recent critical books are AMERICAN POETRY (Yale, 1989) and POLITICS AND FORM IN POSTMODERN POETRY (Cambridge, 1995). Randy Blasing, Editor, is the author of six collections of poems, including THE DOUBLE HOUSE OF LIFE (Persea, 1989) and GRAPHIC SCENES (Persea, 1994). Together they have published eight books of translation, most recently POEMS OF NAZIM HIKMET (Persea, 2002) and Hikmet’s epic verse-novel, HUMAN LANDSCAPES FROM MY COUNTRY (Persea, 2002).
